I was given the amazing opportunity to exhibit my Apollo Tripod at designjunction 2017, as one of the ten finalists selected for the inaugural Rado Star Prize UK.

I am happy to announce that I have been selected as a finalist for the Rado Star Prize UK, for my Apollo Tripod design.
I will exhibit alongside the other ten finalists at designjunction during London Design Festival 2017, where the winner and public prize winner will be announced. Part of a recently launched platform for new designers, run by The London Homeware Company. As well as a designer profile, my Geodesic Cylinder tables are now available on their online store. Following on from the success at Mixology 2016, I have been invited to exhibit the Lilo Bench at KI's London headquarters during the London Design Festival 2016. In association with the Furniture Maker's Company, Sponsored by KI The prize for winning joint 'Best of Show' at the Young Furniture Makers exhibition: An all expenses trip to Austria to visit Blum's cutting edge and fully automated manufacturing facilities, with an interval to enjoy the snow. Tuesday 16th February Flight from Luton to Zurich, coach to the Gasthof Kronele hotel Dinner at a traditional local restaurant Wednesday 17th February Morning: Factory and facility tour of Works 3, Works 5 and Works 2 Afternoon: Tobogganing at Silvretta Montafon Evening: Dinner at Panoramarestaurant Karren Thursday 18th February Morning: Factory and facility tour of Works 7 and Works 4 Afternoon: Lunch at local restaurant, and return flight to Luton from Zurich airport The trip was a fantastic opportunity to see all the latest manufacturing technology, and I thoroughly enjoyed tobogganing and visiting the local restaurants. The competition was open to current students and recent graduates in the UK, with the top three entries invited to the Young Furniture Makers exhibition. During the prize giving I was presented with the Young Furniture Makers Bespoke Award, and a set of Festool power tools. The best designs from the Bespoke and Design Awards were invited to exhibit alongside high quality pieces from BA, MA, and Furniture making courses. I am very pleased to announce that the Lilo Bench won joint Best of Show, with the prize of an all expenses paid trip to the state of the art Blum facilities in Austria! |
